A short-term spike in cortisol can help boost your immune system, but too much cortisol opens door to further inflammation. Sleep not only gives you energy you need throughout day, it's also vital to your overall health. Sleep is foundation of our health, make sure we get quality sleep: 7-8 hours, in a cold dark room; do not use electronic devices for 60 minutes before bedtime; wear blue blocking goggles to reduce effect of blue light on melatonin secretion. All this is very beneficial for our health.
